Replying to myself (and I suppose, others?) that I managed to easily fix it by opening the in-game dev console XD Truly the only imperfect part of this game, the rest is just so well crafted.

Just finished my first route and I really enjoyed it. What a lovely game! I really liked the art and the characters, and look forward to seeing the others.

(I did find myself coming across the same stuck skip options bug as another commenter, which didn't resolve itself even after a reload)
